ADA, Website, and Research Webliographies

I have to admit I was very intimidated by the thought of doing webliographies. I now have a different view - I appreciate them. I find they are beneficial for reference purposes. Webliographies are time consuming but beneficial. I feel I will use these in the future when information is needed on whatever I am working on at the time.

Reflection on Hardware Review

I learned so much during the hardware review. By making a few mistakes I now feel I am more knowledgeable and aware of technology hardware and hopefully I will not make the same mistakes again. It was so hard deciding what is input, output, storage or N/A. I was glad that we were able to work as in small groups. That in itself made me relax somewhat.

Blogs

After reading and posting my escan I can see how technology can be used to enhance lesson plans. Collaborating with teachers is vital and can lead to higher learning by students. I didn't realize how much students enjoy blogs. This is an area that I can expand upon and work harder in understanding the ins and outs to be a better teacher and meeting the student's interests.

Webliography

OK - I feel a little better about the webliography. I now understand why we needed to learn the html language first. Knowing html helped me figure out how to center my work when the conventional way was unsuccessful. It was exciting and I couldn't wait to tell my family what I did in class Saturday.

Webliographies

I am apprehensive about what a webliography looks like. I am going to do a little research to ease my mind a little. I am not worried about finding the information as much as I am worried about the little details to make it all come together. One question I have is where do I begin to even start - Word maybe and then drop it into our Angel drop box? I am sure I will soon find out.

Unready For This Attack

I, too, am unready for this attack should it happen in my lifetime. Kyl writes convincingly that this possibility could become a reality. I am not prepared. If an EMP attack should happen, everything I use from my electric toothbrush to acquiring my masters with much needed technology would be doomed and unsuccessful.

At home, my survival skills would be greatly tested to see if I could survive as my ancestors did in the 1880's. Indoor plumbing that worked would again become a life of luxury. Drinkable water, food that is not rotten and clean clothes would be a challenge that I am not sure I truly understand.

Librarians would have to return to manual, handwritten check-out systems. The card catalog would have to be maintained and many would have to be taught how to use it. The process of checking out books and keeping up with who has what would be cumbersome. I do not even want to think about how inventory might turn out - it would be disastrous!

An EMP attack is something I do not want to think about unless I am forced to deal with it. It frightens me and makes me feel that I would be a failure should I have to cope with such a disaster.

Overwhelmed!!!!!

I am a little overwhelmed at the moment. My router fried this week and my wireless printer stopped working. It's Wednesday and I am just now back in the swing of things relating to technology. It's ironic that our class is based on technology and I am having these troubles now.

All is well now. My wireless Internet is working again and after many phone calls my wireless printer is printing again on demand. Yea!! All is well again.
